Brian Sibley is a writer and radio broadcaster with a particular interest in fantasy literature and cinema. His love of J.R.R. Tolkien and the myths and history of Middle-earth led him to produce the acclaimed BBC radio adaptation of The Lord of the Rings.
Brian Sibley has also produced numerous other radio adaptations, including several of J.R.R. Tolkien’s shorter works, as well as works by C.S. Lewis, Ray Bradbury, and two novels by Mervyn Peake, for which he received the Sony Awards. He has written several books, including the bestselling The Lord of the Rings: Official Movie Guide, published in Greek by Aiolos Editions.
They filmed scenes in the stunning landscapes of New Zealand and used the expertise of a small army of artists – including digital effects wizards, medieval weapons experts, stonemasons, linguists, costume designers, make-up artists, blacksmiths and model makers – along with a staff of internationally acclaimed actors and literally thousands of extras, to realize this ambitious dream.
