The authors, inspired by their wanderings in the beautiful locations around Lake Trichonida – shores, meadows, olive groves, scrublands or rocky hills, with their flowers, bushes and trees, butterflies, moths and coleoptera, the frogs, snakes and spiders, scorpions, turtles and birds – remind us of the amazing myths associated with flora, fauna and nature in general.
Their text is interspersed by quotations from ancient and contemporary poets and writers – from Homer to Odysseus Elytis – who were inspired by nature and myth. The authors’ walks around lake Trichonida and enable the reader to experience the splendor of nature through ancient myths and the splendor of ancient myths through magical landscapes.
