AIKATERINI

CHALIKIA-VOSSOU

Aikaterini Chalikia-Vossou was born in Argostoli, Kefalonia, in 1943. She grew up surrounded by the echoes of the 1940 war, the Occupation, and the Civil War—events that affected her indirectly and left her with many questions and reflections.

ΜΙΑ ΗΛΙΑΧΤΙΔΑ ΣΤΗΝ ΠΛΑΤΕΙΑ ΚΑΜΠΑΝΑΣ

At the age of nine and a half, she experienced the devastating 1953 earthquakes in the Ionian Islands.

She was admitted to the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Athens, but did not attend, as she was hired by the Hellenic Telecommunications Organization (OTE) after succeeding in a written examination. From an early age, she also displayed a talent for painting and completed a correspondence course in painting at the ABC School of Paris.

Her short stories have been published in magazines, and one of her works has received an award in a literary competition. “A Sunbeam in Campana Square” is her first attempt at writing a book for both children and adults, and she hopes to continue writing in the future.
