LUIS
ROJAS MARCOS
Luis Rojas Marcos was born in Seville and has lived in New York since 1968.
He is a professor of Psychiatry at New York University, a member of the New York Academy of Medicine, and of the American Public Health Association.
From 1982 to 1992, he served as director of New York City’s municipal psychiatric treatment system. He later oversaw Mental Health Services until 1995, and in 1996 was appointed director of New York City’s public hospital system.
He has published numerous studies on psychiatry and public health in American scientific journals. In Spain, he regularly contributes opinion articles to the newspaper El País.
