LIAPIS
He is a native of the “great” Agios Georgios of Pelion and an educator who has been involved in letters (in the broad sense of the term) since 1955.
He began his publishing activity at the Volos newspaper I Thessalia, where he has published thousands of articles to this day, ranging from journalistic reporting to folklore, history, linguistics, and literature.
He has published texts for many years in newspapers and cultural magazines across Greece, especially in publications focused on cultural education.
He also collaborated for a long period with the Central Radio Station of Volos, producing more than 500 educational, historical, and folkloric broadcasts.
He is actively involved in the intellectual and cultural life of his region, giving lectures, talks, and participating in conferences and symposia on local history and folklore. He plays a central role in the cultural activity of his birthplace, contributing to two museums and to the cultural magazines Vigla and Ploiri.
His work includes 13 books and 15 reprints on history, folklore, literature, and linguistics, with a strong focus on the Pelion region. For his studies he has received awards in national and regional competitions, and for his work The Linguistic Idiom of Pelion he has been honored by the Academy of Athens and the Linguistic Society of the Academy of Athens.
He is also a member of various cultural institutions and associations, including the National Society of Writers, the Greek Folklore Society, and the Union of Tourism Journalists and Writers.
