A didactic fairy tale by Loukdovikos ton Anogion about the search for love.
Once upon a time, in very ancient years, the years of fairy tales, two great peoples—the Minoans in Crete and the Egyptians in the land of the Nile—dominated the eastern Mediterranean. Ships sailed back and forth from Crete to Egypt and from Egypt to Crete.
Loudovikos of Anogeia was born in Anogeia, Crete. His artistic pseudonym was given to him by Manos Hadjidakis, whom he met in Anogeia in 1979.
He first appeared on the music scene in 1985 with the album Moirologia.
Since then, he has been taking audiences on a journey with his melodic voice, his mandolin, and his music and lyrics.
Loudovikos of Anogeia is also a gifted contemporary storyteller, whose narratives are deeply rooted in the history and traditions of his homeland.
On such a ship, Charmis the Minoan also went to Egypt. It does not matter whether he went in his dreams or in reality. He went either way, since he loved travelling. And so, riding on Charmis’ dream, we too travel, learning about people of long ago.
We meet Noe and the Nile; we learn how people then, as today, sought love, worshipped their gods, exchanged gifts, danced and enjoyed themselves, drank sweet wine, and travelled.
