Whatever one may say about Lefteris Papadopoulos and his songs, it is never enough. The author, one of his many admirers, knows this well; and so, however exuberantly he expresses himself, he does not tire the reader.
Inspired by the poet’s magical verse, he weaves a tapestry of emotions drawn from his experiences, the images of his homeland, and the stories of Greece, sketching an inner world that only lovers of the poet can truly understand.
And he makes us whisper the following lines about the creator of these lyrics:
You are not of the market place
a gilded trinket of seaside joy
from the harbour.
You are one of those figures
who stroll through paintings
by Modigliani.
