AMALTEA – AROUND THE WORLD BY ACCIDENT

When Amaltea set sail from Trieste for a winter cruise in the Caribbean, no one imagined that after a few months we would be sailing the seas of Polynesia and after a year we would be arriving in Auckland, New Zealand. The great journey of the “Amaltea” reached its peak when, heading south to Latin America, we reached Patagonia, Tierra del Fuego, made port in Ushuaia, sailed around the famous Cape Horn and crossed the Chilean channels, travelling between the glaciers of the far south. He then crossed the Pacific and through the Strait of Magellan returned to the Atlantic and headed north, to the Azores and the Mediterranean, ending up in the Aegean and the Ionian Sea and re-experiencing Greek beauty. Finally, he set sail for the North Adriatic and Trieste, completing three years on the seas of the world.
